Just improvising with my G&L L2000 fretless. This bass features an ebony finger board marked with dots from the 12th fret position up and a swamp ash body. It just sounds awesome!!!

  • Pretty cool fretless work. I went to check your other stuff too...very intense, congrats! You wouldn't happen to be from Montreal, by any chance?

  • Thanks so much!! Yes, I'm in Montreal. Nice Tom Sawyer cover by the way.

  • Beautiful playing! The bass sounds great. The dots from the 12th fret up, are they an option from G&L or were they added? Never seen them on one of their basses.

  • @TheBhunt1 I bought the bass used and the dots were already there. I have the impression that this was standard on there fretless basses for a couple of years.

  • From one fretless playing Kevin to another - great tone and spot-on intonation! Nice jam. What strings are you using? Your bass does sound awesome.

  • Thanks for the comment! I'm using D'addario flat wounds that are around three years old. I forget what gauge they are. They should have been changed long ago. Pickups are in the middle position with the electronics set on the passive.

  • Great, tight playing on a nice, subtle looking bass. Thanks for posting it!

  • Nice Man Kills Man shirt by the way haha, really nice work !

  • Awsome fretless dude !!! I was dead set on getting a stingray (don't get me wrong Musicman makes an awesome bass) but I found that the G&L L2000s AND 1500s are just wayyy more flexible plus thier fretless options include ebony ( a must for fretless IMO) I can't wait, I'm ordering mine next week....Blueburst fretted with maple FB and Natural wood binding. I'm really glad i took my time to research G&L

  • @kevintowards

The flatwounds sound really good (I wouldn't have guessed them to be that old, either). Flatwounds on a fretless are a lot of fun!
