DAY SEVEN IN LA
Bekah, who had been looking down, looked up and looked into Nick's eyes. She was shocked. She thought to herself. "How long had he known?" "Why did I not tell him earlier, now what do I even say back to him?"
Nick looked at Bekah and tried to read her facial expressions. She had none. She just stood there. Nick was confused. He expected a different reaction.
Nick : You ok?
Bekah : [sighs] I am great
Nick : Why didn't you tell me that you saw her kiss me?
Bekah : Why didn't you tell me that she did?
Nick : Well I [pauses] I just thought that maybe if I told you that she did, then you'd break up with me and that if I--
Bekah [cutting Nick off] Whoa whoa whoa, wait. You thought I would have broken up with you? What do you think that I am going to do now? Especially after you hid this whole thing from me.
Nick : I know, Bekah, I am sorry ok?
Bekah : Oh, [raising her voice] like that is going to make everything better!
Nick : Bekah don't yell. I just don't know what to do
Bekah : There is nothing to do
Nick : Well maybe if - [pauses] Wait, are you breaking up with me?
Bekah : No, I just think that I lost a lot of the trust that I had in you. And that will definitely hurt our relationship
Nick : I know, but we can work on it and stuff
Bekah : I don't think you understand how hard it will be to trust you now
Nick : [raising his voice] I didn't do anything wrong!
Bekah : [yelling loudly] YOU DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG!?!?!? Are you even kidding me?!?
Nick : Bekah, seriously don't yell. Let's talk downstairs.
Nick and Bekah go downstairs into Bekah's room. They both sit on the edge of the bed. For a few minutes they sit silent. Eventually Nick tries to make right of his wrong.
Nick : I know that sorry doesn't mean much, but know that I am.
Bekah : Nick, just listen. I saw her kiss you. I didn't know what to do. I thought that something weird was going on between you two. So I decided to avoid you, and pretend that everything was okay. What I should have done was confronted you. But EVEN though I was wrong, you still should have told me or something.
I don't care about Summer. I thought it was stupid that she kissed you, but I thought that it was even more stupid that you didn't tell me.
Nick : I know, I know. And I am sorry for that. It was stupid of me, but I promise nothing like this will ever happen again.
Bekah: I forgive you, but Nick, things won't be the same
Nick : Why not?
Bekah : Because these past couple of days, I've learned that I can live without you. I've had so much fun just hanging out with Samantha and stuff and not worrying about having a boyfriend.
Nick : I can make things better though. I can make us fun again.
Bekah : Nick I told you that I'm not breaking up with you. I just am saying that, well [takes a deep breath] I don't like you as much anymore.
Nick : Oh [looks down]
Bekah : Well I mean obviously I like you, but I can't say that I love you
Nick : [looks up, in an angered voice] So what now, huh? Do I just date a girl that I'm madly in love with while she just has a "crush" on me? Huh? How do you think I am supposed to take this?
Bekah : You should have told me about Summer!
Nick : You shouldn't have avoided me!
Bekah : Oh right, now this is just ALL my fault.
Nick : Bekah, no. Now you're just making things difficult.
Bekah : Well why don't I simplify them for you. After I go back home this summer, we're done.
