Pooty Tang's new digs, plus documentation of his fin rot for future reference to see if there is healing...
EDIT: I never thought other people would actually check this out so let me explain.
He's a rescued fish from a murky green tank that was left unchanged for weeks at a time.He would sit at the bottom of the dark green muck, sulking. I was watching him for my friend before knowing anything about Bettas or fishes and the more I learned the more horrified I was with his conditions and decided I was keeping him, and my friend actually didn't mind letting go of the Tang.
Now he's mine and I love him and I'm constantly monitering his progress. That is why I took this video.

I've been taking care of keeping his water absolutely clean and stable,

  • Poor Guy my Molly I think he might have fin rot or just an old fish hes been at the bottom of the tank allot while his mate will not leave his side, I am going out tonight to get some med's I thought he was sleeping but lately new symptoms are starting to say otherwise. All the other fish are Healthy its just him.

  • @DarkDyami good luck! I'll post a vid of my new boy, Swarley. I loved Pooty Tang I do think I gave him a lot of happy days, but he did eventually die. After about a year or 2 I got my new fish, and it's kind of amazing how easy it is when they are already healthy.

  • my betta went through fin rot its called pectorotal i think

  • Pooty Tang had too many years of it before he was under my care to really recover fully, but his daily life was scaled up dramatically when he became mine. If they are young and you're on top of it, cleanliness etc then it shouldn't be a problem.

  • @laura999991 fin rot sucks, but cleaning the tank and using the right stuff in the water like stress coat and aquarium salts, maybe melafix etc--- if they are young and otherwise healthy, that should do the trick. Just have to be vigilant.

  • Your fish is sick

  • yeah, uh, I think I went over that in the info. I don't need to be a pro to see that. He was already sick when he became mine.

  • my betta looks exactly like the first one

  • @hnek Yup it is ya I can't wait to see the new videos, Sadly both my molly's died the female was due to give birth this week and after she died my male died and now its just my Beta and my Pelco (still under treatment though)

It is much easier when their healthy by far, I been watching videos on scaring and looks like my Beta Missy has allot of scar tissue around her fins I am wondering if she got in a fight with a fish or two before they put her in the little jars they do.

  • when they are in bad conditions, like water not getting changed often enough, big shifts in temp or pH or anything that causes them enough stress with a lowered immune system.

Keeping all the conditions stable should prevent it from happening. yeah, poor baby. He was a tough one though, and held on for a lot longer than I expected after rescuing him.
