Janet Napolitano says domestic extremist are more dangerous than international terrorist. She said something very similar to this about a year ago. At that time she accused returning American combat veterans, Tea Party participants and members of most any group that wasnt in the Obama camp of being potential domestic terrorists. She got a boat-load of backlash when she put out a long bureaucratic report to that effect. So, like a good little progressive democrat, she back-peddled and said thats not what she really meant, renamed some of her points in good Orwellian style and changed the subject.

Since Napolitano made her apparent disdain for the American public at large publicly known, we have had several terrorist attacks and attempted terrorist attacks on American soil. The Ft. Hood massacre, the Christmas Day attempted bombing (aka the Underwear Bomber) and an alleged attempt to poison the food supply at Ft. Jackson that is still under investigation and not being reported on, just to name a few. Needless to say, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano has come under fire for her handling of each attack and attempted attack. To say that Mayberrys Aunt Bea would be more effective and intimidating to enemies of our country would be a gross understatement.

I seriously doubt if that worries Ms. Napolitano one little bit. It wouldnt bother her because she seems intent on viewing Americans as more threatening than al-Qaeda or the Taliban. You know those right-wing extremist who work 40-hours a week, live in the suburbs, are active in civic organizations, keep their lawns and houses clean, go to church, are raising families and are mad enough about government waste and raised taxes to work in time to go to a Tea Party rally are a pretty threatening bunch. Napolitano and the Obama Administration seem to be totally intimidated by them (or should I write us?)

Even though Janet Napolitano said she didnt really mean that American Soldiers and ordinary patriotic citizens were our biggest threat, she is now saying it again. Could it be that she didnt really mean it when she retracted those statements a year ago? Surely one of Obamas cabinet appointees wouldnt mislead, mis-state and avoid taking responsibility for what they say and do! Say it aint so!

When Jane Napolitano spoke at the National Governors Associations Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. this weekend, she reiterated that domestic extremists are more dangerous than international terrorists. She says drilling down on domestic terrorist is her top concern. I think that she had returned to that song and dance indicates that might be what she actually believes. At least this time she seems to be talking about muslims and immigrants being radicalized within the country as opposed to American Soldiers being a threat.

Oh, and I might mention that she told the governors that our government doesnt have any idea about how to deal with the problem. Shes the Secretary of Homeland Security and she says this as though its someone elses fault. Im betting in the eyes of the Obama Administration that would be Bushs fault.

  • What about al Qaeda and the Taliban?

Uh... who says they're NOT also focused on them? I'm pretty sure the DHS cna multitask. It's a freaking gov't agency, for crying out loud.

Please don't call it "al Qayda" like a frickin 4-year-old. You're a grown woman who should know how to pronounce the most basic words. What's next, you gonna say "nookular"?

  • Democratic Congressmen who were threatened by far-right nutjobs. Folks like Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Sharron Angle and Michele Bachmann using very militarist language to refer to their opponents or how they can "take the country back." Palin with her "taking up arms" and crosshairs map

Remember Angle's "second amendment remedies" nonsense? Didn't Allen West say something about using the 2nd Amendment to incite change in gov't, too? And on and on and on

  • Once again, conservatives fail to put shit in perspective and go apeshit about a report they probably have NEVER read. I bet only 10% of the Republicans and conservatives going apeshit over this report even bothered to look at it fir more than 5 seconds, if at all. I did. I skimmed. It's not that fucking bad!

Of course Janet Napolitano and DHS wasn't saying that ALL conservatives are extremists. They were talking about folks who are in things like MILITIAS and neo-nazi groups. DUH
