We Are Hungry

Good news! The USDA will allow more meats and grains in school lunches following criticisms of parents and lawmakers. To all supporters of our video, thank you for making your voices heard!

Our message needs clarification. We are excited about being offered more healthy fruits and vegetables. We feel the protein and carbohydrate limitations, 10-12 ounces a week, are not enough fuel for our average very active student. Almost all our students have a weights class and compete in sports. We see a problem with a one size fits all program that only is meant to target the overweight student, not the average student as deemed by local governing boards.

A parody on the national school lunch policy mandated by The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 which humorously shows the results of the limitations in carbohydrates and proteins. I honestly hate how we have to do this. I'm all for healthy living, but the food they give us at my school is just bad. I also hate how at fast food chains they want to take out all the good food and replace them with healthy food. If you want a salad, don't go to McDonalds! I also see if people can only really afford to go there, but please people, give us good food!!!!

sure, my school gives us as many food as WE CAN BUY, but most of it is diet food. not saying that healthy is bad, but how do we know that what we are eating is actually what it is? Also the school should let the students make the decision on what to get and give them the tools to be able to judge if what their eating will effect them. like with mcdonalds (not that it did much) display what the calorie count is in each item and other nutrient facts. plz don't comment on me if it is a bad one...
