The Atrax is a 3 DOF Australian Funnel Web Spider inspired robot, that is mainly wooden made. The parts are cut from a 3 mm plywood plate with a Dremel saw. 27 servos are dispatched as follows: 24 for legs, 2 for fangs and 1 for the abdomen.
Everything else (servos, erectors, electronics, ..) are supplied by Lynxmotion.

3 different real walking patterns are implemented:
- Scorpion (4231 seq.)
- Tarantula (4132 seq.) quite slow gait in the real life
- Metachronal (4231 seq.) common for running spiders, ticks, lobsters and crabs

  • 3:57 is actually kinda scary to see that thing heading towards you.

  • I think.. wheels might be a little bit simpler and faster means of transportation.

  • How much for one of these? If you could build another one just like it, i would buy it.

  • 0:50 ROFL! hahaha
