It's not wrong to put vocals over a non-vocal track, surely. As long as the original artist is credited. Alexis Jordan put vocals over a track called "Brazil" and renamed it "Happiness".

@simeiro1 It was 'Moony'..she did another song after this called ..Dove ( I'll be loving you) which was also brilliant..love her voice...reminds me of the summer this song :)

@aguscanzani From wikipedia: 'The hit single "Point of View" contains a re-recorded version of a song called "Heatwave" by French band Phoenix, which was released as a single in 1999.'- Given that this song came out in 2001 and Phoenix had already been around for several years prior to this and had released 'Heatwave' in 1999, I don't think it does go back before Phoenix!
