EPISODE 3: When Michelle Rhee assumed control of Washington, DC's public schools in June, she told us that she expected her direct, no-nonsense approach to stir things up. And it has. Now, seven months into the job, her plans to close 15% of the schools under her control and fire central office workers at will are drawing fierce criticism from unions, teachers, and parents.

Well said! And I think it's time to look into other countries and see why things work there instead of thinking the US as the leading fiigure. Teachers in this country are treated in a ridicously harsh way.

Mmm, according to her "weeding out the bad grass" rule, why don't we expell students that are not up to par ? Great way to motivate people by using fear. Way to go michelle!

Would you BLAME the POLICE OFFICER working in a HIGH CRIME AREA?
Would you BLAME the DOCTOR working in a hospital with a lot of SICK people?
Would you BLAME the LAWYER working with a lot of CRIMINALS?
Would you BLAME the BORDER PATROL AGENTS for all the ILLEGAL ALIENS that are crossing the border?
Would you BLAME the SOCIAL WORKER with a lot of WELFARE CASES?
NO? Why not?
Because there are other FACTORS beyond their control! STOP BLAMING THE TEACHERS!

They could have run that many schools but they would have to be smaller schools, shouldn't be paying for wasted space. If children walk to school you can save on busing cost.

The teachers union needs to listen. They've been in charge for a long time, protecting teachers who are not effective.
