at the place i work at, we have a few friesians...sweetest horses in the barn i think (and also the biggest, which i LOVE)

im sure if you search around a bit too, youd be able to find some in a rescue...save yourself a bit of money, and save a life...maybe not the bloodlines youre looking for, but still...

Id rather save up and get quality bloodlines myself as im looking to event...rescue sounds good...but id buy from foal and back and school myself, and keep him for life that way i can get him how i want him.And hopefully have a long eventing carrer with him.Good sugestion though :-)

Sad and shocking though this is, it's still not as bad as what they do to hogs, cattle, and chickens. Hogs are kept indoors for their whole lives in stalls so small they can only move a few inches from side to side. Chickens are kept in dark filthy barns crammed in cages with up to six other chickens some of whom are dead and left to rot.

If you really don't like this, I'd suggest becoming a vegan or only using free range animal products.

Not to mention that stopping PMU, will prevent a good number of the horses shipped to slaughter-houses, meaning slaughter houses will lose a big portion of their buisness. Although there's really no way to prevent any form of horse cruelty if people keep irresponsibly breeding. :/

A donation to this group will pay for transportation, vet care & the ability to provide hay to the hundreds of babies not able to graze in the Canadian winter. these company that do this also have other branches even if your not buying this Premarin product you still may be supporting them - by quickly following the link i found they also make product for horse health!!! i for one will now be avoiding their products and not using them to treat my horses

they're not slaughtered for their medicine. they are slaughtered after they become usless. stripped of any sort of life for the sake of estrogen then murdered when they can not earn their keep anymore.

My Husband and I are heading up the Canadian border in a week to pick up 6 PMU Mares, all in foal, 3 with foals at their side a well. There are adoption sites and rescue organizations you can help out. Please look into like we did. You can mean the difference between life and death.
