In the first week of June 92 Royal Naval Vessel X.S.V Express heads for Ilfracombe with a following sea giving rise to a surfing condition lifting the stern up and forcing the bows down to take the liferaft of its cradle. Cruising at 18 knots and rising to sometimes over 30 knots, its not hard to imagine the force of the sea over the deck, needless to say we early for our rendevous with XSV Moderator.
