Former Cape Cod National Seashore ranger Jack Clarke recalls the first night of the storm now known as "The Blizzard of '78" on Feb. 6, 1978, when he was staying at the lightkeeper's house at Nauset Light in Eastham on Cape Cod. Clarke would later witness the destruction of Henry Beston's Outermost House, which will be featured in a special talk by Beston Society founder Don Wilding at the CCNS Salt Pond Visitors Center in Eastham on Feb. 16, 2008 at 2:45 p.m. Visit www.henrybeston.org for more information.
