External Fixation Removal

Removal of my external fixation. I had an accident on a scooter on the 16th January. Breaking my tibia and fibula quite badly. I had an open fracture through the calf and shin. Nice. Had two surgery's. On leaving hospital I accidentally staggered and put weight on the leg. I snapped again. Not nice. I was in Somerset State Hospital in Cape Town. The surgeon's were superb. I finally had the ex fix removed on the 19th January. Six months later. IT was a trying experience, but im quite happy with my progress. Im not exactly active, but the limp is improving every week. good luck if you are dealing with the ex-fix. i almost miss it at times.

@yungtrill601 it is not easy having an ex-fix. but on the plus side. It rocks to still have a leg to stand on.

i have on too it comes out next week ours were alike in so many ways hope my removal goes just as good i ripped my heel off too but my doctors managed to save it and put it back on i just dont have any feeling in my foot damaged alot of nerves

@yungtrill601 good luck with it. im not a year and a half on from my accident. i still have nerve damage in my leg. it feels rather funny. but i can pretty much run about now...

healed up very well thanks. although i havent had to deal with winter yet. my leg is starting to feel very stiff in the cold. (and it isnt really cold yet)
