We are home winemakers. On Oct 3, 2009 we got 300lbs of Zinfandel grapes and set about turning them into wine. The first step is to crush and destem the grapes. We automate nothing so here is a handy hand-cranked machine to help us get the grapes off the stems and then lightly crush them to get the juices flowing.

  • 300 pounds doesn't take that long, really, and I don't want to spring for the electric machine. And the kid was instructed to catch out stems that had made it through - he was knowledgeable and safe about what he was doing. Thanks for the warning, however.

  • 300lbs with a hand crank crusher? damn thats gonna take a long time, should upgrade to electric machine. Also I would tell the kid to stop putting his hand in the blade area
