the point isnt who is the better musician. comparing hendrix to EVH is like apples to oranges. they were both amazing at what they did. The fact is that both of them changed the way music was looked at and for that both Hendrix and EVH deserve the credit they get.

he wasnt doing large venues but he was filling up his calendar

i think dave and van halen compliment each other more than the previous singers.

all of whom are good on their own.

Interesting how Ed looks pretty healthy here, then got so thin by the time they had to take a break from the Reunion Tour. Musta been hittin it pretty hard. Glad to see him so much better now.

@tosammyk I'd rather see Roth on his worst day up there than witness that fat squealing poodle-headed tequila salesman. Roth go to the gym? LMAO. Spambo the Cabo Clown should hit the gym instead of the buffet.. I think it'd be pretty embarrassing for his heart to explode in front of a club full of Redheads...

And yeah, get rid of the kid and get Mike back (if Sam says it's ok)...

@Pat9201 Yes, Dave toured in 2004. Saw him play in Ontario Canada that year. Great show . Probably his last tour of doing the splits off the drum riser every show.

And I agree with you. VH needed Dave and Dave needed VH. Now if Ed would let go of the past issues and get Mike back in the band. I know he's proud of his kid. But Wolfgang is NOT a seasoned pro. He's a statue up there slashing away on his bass. He doesn't do the rhythm section any justice.He is NOT a performer..

I would love to see Eddie and Dave and Alex do a stripped down blues album. Get a nice simple small drum kit and forget the tapping and dive bombs for one album. Eddie's dirty tone and Dave's raspy voice compliment each other..Not to mention Ed can improvise like a mother...
