i think it sounds pretty good! I like it. love both tunes. One thing I would do:modify just a little bit more the melody, not so static, change a little bit more the rhythm and add some off melody notes between phrases. But that is just what I would do and maybe (probably) you already know about it! so beyond that little thing i pointed out, i think you have done a great job and it sounds really cool and to me you will do really well on that berklee workshop! Hey, thanks! I'm quite new to jazz, so I'm still trying to work out the basics, like outlining the chords when soloing, etc. But thanks for the advice, I'll try to apply it in the future. =)
I read on your profile that you might be going to Berklee in Spring '10. That's also when I've deferred my acceptance and scholarship to, because of financial reasons as well. So I guess I'll see you there! =)
