  • Does anyone know how to search for the unnamed track from this record?

  • I'll upload it tomorrow if you'd like.

  • Sure. I just didn't know if you could find it online, what with which parameters to put in the search and all. Pelican are fantastic...who needs vocals?

  • I just use the album name, that usually works. But in the context of YouTube, I'll make it identifiable by "Dash" "Hyphen" as well as "Minus". Although I do wish YouTube would allow single characters to be able to be searched.

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs in modern metal history. Listen to that melody, listen to the power, the cymbals and the low-end riffs crashing down like waves crashing on the shore. Pelican is power but it is tempered with grace and that's why we love their music.

  • man that riff that exists from 0:53 and 2:02 is just orgasmic

  • pelican match song titles to their arrangements very very well.

    0.28 0:50 2:00 3:10 4:23 5:05 5:30 6:24 6:44

those are all the lead changes in the song. and i fucking love them all.

  • Listen to the gradual build up before 4:23 where the notes are in major and at 4:23 the notes join the minor scale and the music takes a figuartive descent. Pelican has resuscitated my hope in metal.

  • yes and the powerful but slow descent comes at 2:03............ahhhhhhhhhh.

This is poetry in melody. There is no metal band that has ever existed in the history of metal that has expressed, without words, without lyrics, without vocals, the magnificence of nature and our one-ness with our environs. It's like Origin of the Species written out in tabulature.

  • @ExposingTheGOP nicely put!

  • pure energy and power spiced whit gloomy a bit dark atmosphere to me
