@xxkittenkiller No Dude, electrical engineer PE, I used to repair power transformers for 5 years, I mean total overhaul, windings, insulation, iron core, tanks, all that stuff for the ones up to 1000 KVA and I was maintaining big ones in substations up to 250 MVA, 400KV- bushings, gaskets, voltage regulators, I just love them, Platonicly.

That's why you need the full set of relay protection on high voltage transformers, overcurrent, differential, ironcore (gas), distance (looking otwards to the line), ground fault current (if the neutral is grounded), harmonic and surge protectors on the high voltage side. Beautiful machines, the backbone on every power system, they sit there calmly and work hard, when you get close to them you can hear how they moan and hiss passuionately 'mmmmmmmmmmmmm'. Long live all Power Transformers
