  • I don't know if anyone knows this, or has pointed this out, but this is actually a song about his infatuation with Megan White from the White Stripes. If you listen to the lyrics he says "I saw you on the big screen, oh jack was gene, but you stole the scene" and "Baby you're the bomb, oh jack is great, don't get me wrong, but this is your song" Jack is the lead singer and guitarist for The White Stripes if you didn't know. I thought it was pretty cool and might point it out :)

  • No Idea who the fuck Diana Agron is.....

  • Fucking great song but is total shite that embedding is disabled.. could get millions of hits through Tumblr and any number of other sites I post on.. oh well.. I will post the live version and remove this direct link.. I suggest removing the block 'Mr. LaMontagne' and let your fans share your music.. otherwise.. well.. who is Ray LaMontagne?

    Your good friend,

  • Meg is the queen of demure.

I like how the drums sound like something she would play.

I'm as infatuated with Meg as this guy, but I hope she & her new husband stay in love for evermore.

  • @zenben1126 Maybe he just thinks she`s really pretty and deserves a song written about her since everyone pays attention to Jack and not her.

  • @zenben1126 not to pile on, but Meg White is a pretty big name in rock. It would be like somebody posting on a Chopin video asking "who is this Mozart guy?" As for why he'd write a song about her: he might have been gently joking about how many people had crushes on her. And I am sure there was a bit of self-promotion as well, wanting to tap into the much larger White Stripes fanbase.

  • @JustinPlaysBass97 Sure, if you know the White Stripes, which by the way is not implied by association nor required to listen to this song. I, for one, did not realize the connection for a while, and found it an interesting thought - the curious question is "why?"

Why did Ray LaMontagne write this about Meg White?

  • @zenben1126 it is extremely fucking obvious who this is about...
