Help Hank! Hank is a 4yr old team penning Quarter Horse who was tied to a metal post when a dog startled him pulling up the post. Hank ran from the danger with the tied post trailing behind him beating against his rear pasterns severing both his rear pasterns' cutting through his tendons. Hank needed surgery to repair his tendons. The veterinarian was called on Friday May 19th, 2012 and medical care was given and she explained that time was of the essence and Hank needed surgery no later Saturday May 20th, 2012. Well the family decided to leave for the weekend. Paws Ranch Equine Rescue was contacted regarding a lame horse by friends of the family. We said we would take him in. We contacted the veterinarian to find out about Hanks condition and she stated she called multiple times to contact the owner regarding Hank, but the owner's voicemail was full. We obtained permission for a voluntary surrender with help of the veterinarian and went to pick up Hank. He had the original bandages on both pasterns and both pasterns were infected. Hank is at our facility and will need ongoing medical care regarding his injuries. If you can help, go to www.pawsranch.org to donate to Hanks medical care. Please help this beautiful boy. Updates will be posted regarding Hank's progress.
