How to make a Tech House sounding stab using Ableton Live's Analog. No other VSTi or plugins are required. Play around with it a bit and you'll have a nice tech house stab just like Richie Hawtin, Marco V, James Talk, Koen Groeneveld, Dubfire and other Tech House producers!

This is the second part in a 2 part Tech House tutorial. In the first part, I showed you how to create a good bass for the foundation of your tech house track.

  • one question: when you're messing with the envelope of the filter, you're not really doing anything 'cause the envelope level is set to zero. is that on purpose?

  • @Aznstriker24 Good eye. In another part, I'll be adding automation. I was just setting things up ahead of time. Of course, the rest of the filter settings will still affect the final sound.

  • It seems more Progressive than Tech House.

Tech House Have more swinging and serious(low) bassline, Your bassline is too fast(progressive),,,,But nice tutorial really enjoyed

  • Thanks alot! You really helped me out getting a nice dark bassline and some nice stabs!

Although i put it on 140 bpm and made it a bit Goa like, i'll put in soundcloud soon if you would like to hear it

  • great tut, very begginer frendly.

  • Very good video man. Just wondering as you make adjustments on Analog could you give a little preview of what exactly changing that does to the sound???
