Those Old Creaky Boards by Trina Rodriguez (from "Investigations of Place")

Trina Rodriguez's "Those Old Creaky Boards" muses about home as place. She presents surreally staged photographs of her childhood house, narrated by a low-fi recording of a dialogue between the artist and her family. As she examines a home existing in the past, we realize that what we selectively remember is equally as influential as what is lost to time when immortalizing a place in our minds.

This film, among others, appears in the exhibition of short films titled "Investigations of Place" (Curated by Natalie McKeever and on view at Jersey City Museum May 5 September 13, 2009).
