Got this SG a week or two ago, this Egnater Renegade yesterday, and a Zoom Q3 video/audio recorder today. Decided to fire everything up tonight to check out this Zoom recorder. I'm playing VERY quietly at 1:00am.

Stock pickups in the SG ('57 Classics) and stock speakers in the Marshall 1960BV cab (Celestion "Vintage").

Thoughts?

  • Played thru the Rene w the Eg. 2x12. . . Sounded fantastic!!! So need ur opinion. . . Do u still have the Renegade? Did u get Shiva? Did u ever get the Eg. 2x12? What's the latest?

  • @joelg125 Hi! I no longer have the Renegade or the Shiva. In my opinion, I much preferred the Renegade to the Shiva. The Shiva just didn't have the tones I wanted, but the Renegade was great for me!

  • @SgtThump I have a Mesa Lonestar coming soon. hopefully it should fill my needs for now. So what are you playing now after the Renegade & Shiva?

  • @joelg125 DRUMS! LOL! Yes, really. I haven't picked up a guitar for any length of time in around 9 months. I've been focusing solely on drums.

As far as guitar gear, I still have my Peavey Classic 30 and Mesa Electra Dyne. Both amps rock bigtime! For guitars, I still (and always will) have my R8 Les Paul, my yellow Charvel, and my blonde Fender Strat.

  • How high up do you have the gain? Its hard to tell if the knob is at 3 o'clock, or 9 o'clock!

  • @SLonergan59 It definitely wasn't 9:00 o'clock. It must've been around 2:00 or 3:00 o'clock. That's where I had it set almost all the time.

  • @SgtThump my Renegade is running into a custom made 2x12 cab with a Eminance The Wizard and a Governor.

    The sound is fat!

@skunizzi if you can, try to find some demo with these two speakers, you won't regret it (and on the plus side, might even save a little money by having a cab built.)

  • Nice high gain sound, but I think the cleans would suffer when playing through the Marshall Cabinet.

Can you do a demo of the cleanest cleans you can get out of this cabinet using the Egnater head?

    that would be really helpful!

    Thanks
