This is very sad. And its not just puppies. I recently bought some gerbils from Petsmart and they were kept in those stackable plastic containers in a backroom. I know by buying them i was supporting it, but there are no gerbil breeders and i wanted to rescue them. I am now trying to join the cause against these cruel acts and only buy pets that have been rescued or unwanted. All of my dogs were bought from either a breeder (background checked) or rescued.

I wish I could help them too. But the government wont help. They wont help humans let alone helpless puppies. :( All my dogs have come from shelters.

I am pro-life, but I have to say that I agree with Summer because these dogs are being tortured day in and day out and starved. Abortion is totally different because those babies are potentially being born into a bad condition and are being saved from it (at least that is the argument of pro-choicers). There is a difference. The point here is that people are making money off of this torture. No one is making money off of someone aborting a baby (except the doctor of course).

Government is not the problem. Kennels are not the problem. It is demand that drives the supply of any product, living or not. Yes, demand by a society of creatures that war with one another, kill indiscriminately, let children starve, persecute and destroy whole peoples because they disagree with them, etc. and you expect, yes even demand that the masses be compassionate towards animals as pets?
Until people quit killing each other and their own children(abortion) things wont change.

You are actually right about this--if people didn't buy puppies from stores, then the puppy mills would go out of business. Over 4 million dogs are euthanized every year because they aren't "wanted". Give homes to dogs that are in shelters and rescues before going to a puppy store. I guess expecting or demanding that people be compasionate toward animals is too much to ask. I can only do what I can do, and that is to get the word out there to stop people from buying puppies in stores.

No, you can do so much more. The time you spend doing this could be spent getting the word out to stop people from killing their children(abortion) and the rewards are about saving human lives.
IF you are a Christian, when God asks you for an accounting of the good you have done, which do you think will be the more important act of mercy you can claim to have done?

I am not going to get into an argument about women's choice issues, because that is not relevant to this video or this issue--that is a separate topic altogether. That issue is primarily a religious issue, and I don't want to start fighting over religion---everybody's got their own beliefs as far as God is concerned. I respect your religion and your views in that regard, and I believe that you should respect others' as well. As a matter of fact, I happen to save lives every day.

Oh, excuse me. I considered it relevant because they are both about mercy, compassion towards the innocent, the alleviation of suffering, the dignity and value of each life(including puppies and children), and how people treat other living creatures.

by the way, over 1.3 million human babies are euthanized each year in America alone, because they aren't "wanted".

You are using the term "euthanasia" incorrectly. Abortion/termination of pregnancy and euthanasia are 2 completely different things. Please look up the definitions of the two and use them appropriately. Again, the issue of pregnancy termination is not relevant to this video about puppy mills, as I am sure you know. It is virtually impossible to compare the torture, abuse and neglect of dogs with pro-life/pro-choice issues.Public awareness about pet stores/puppy mills is the answer to stop this.
