  • SUTHERLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND

  • Moffo seems to be very good as always, but I miss Deutekom here

  • I didn't know Scotto could reach a high Eb O.o

  • I have never heard anyone sing as high as 3:57 ever

Oh, skip it. I love many other singers. And I know that she wasn't perfect (Increasing wobble etc.). However "a lot of flaws" is an exaggeration. Especially in her prime.

  • @Elisabetta611 "She sang those roles better than anyone," entirely subjective. Since it appears you are a Callas fanatic, im not going to attempt to argue with you, its always a waste of time, callas fanatics are consistentently unwillign to accept that she was anything less than perfect, when in reality she had a lot of flaws and a singer

She sang those roles better than anyone. She rarely ever did OVER-ornament, but Serafin did not have to persuade her to sing an E-flat as Lucia. If my memory doesn't fool me, they never did Lucia together. And in her first Lucias in Mexico (Without Serafin), she already sang the E-flats.

  • @Elisabetta611 Im not going to attempt to try to dig up documentation online right now, but youre definitely wrong, she sang those roles (the appropriateness of which remains debatable), but for her entire career she was known for singing things as written with minimal interpolations, and I know Ive read about Tulio Seraphim having asked her to sing the Lucia Eb because she didnt want to.
