I'd go with the Carl Martin Crush Zone, if you can still find them. I believe they went out of production. The Cool Cat Drive (V1/V2 - doesn't matter much) is better for bluesy overdrive.

What is the model?

I know this was from 2 years ago, but I had to comment when I saw you use the same setup as me-SG/65 Deluxe. I have a similar experience w/ mine. I prefer the Transparent OD, but this guy gets a great tone from his Drive, so maybe it just isn't suited to my setup and playing style. It's good and usable, but it just doesn't FEEL as good as I hoped.

I just came back from a surf shop, of all places, that had a few guitars and a dusty display of the version 1 pedals sitting there. I already own a CO-1, but managed to grab another one AND the Transparent OD for $55!! Couldn't believe my luck.

Hi Robert, you should do a lesson on one of your faster licks at 1:00, it sounds great!

DAMN COOL

You definately have an ear for melody. Great tasty playing! I ended up buying both the Danelectro Drive and Transparent OD. Lucky me the music store had both pedals in version 1. They hadn't heard about internet buzz about them being discontinued for copyright issues.

Hey Robert. Do you think it has enough gain to use it as distortion? I am thinking to sell my Proco rat 2 and buy the two overdrives and the fuzz.

Hmmm, good question. It depends on how much gain you need. It might - you should try it. It's so cheap so why not get one anyway?
