hey man do you know what the cheesewheel is made of? plastic, metal or wood or something else?

I have an old 'Cheesewheel' too still in the Hammond Aurora. Is is tough to remove the wiring or do you have a dual switch. I am currently working with a DC motor and a speed control transformer off an electric train. It works great and has the benefit of running from 0 to 255 rpm instead of the 3 choices on a Leslie SLOW-OFF-FAST. My next plan:dual rotation-'highs' and 'lows' should be rotating in oposite directions for full Dopler Effect. YosarianCat22@gmail.com if interested in chatting.

These old Leslie tremolo units are readily available and fairly cheap. I find them in old spinnet organs all the time. I have several of them and they work great. What I did was to place 2 of them face to face, so one rotor was turning clockwise and the other rotor was turning counter-clockwise. I replaced the 8" speaker with 10" speakers and I have a very gigable Leslie.

Very cool!
How did you vary the motor speed? What's a cheese wheel?

Man, for a second I thought it was made out of cheese! It's still pretty cool though.
