It was announced earlier today that Etta has been pronounced terminally ill with chronic leukemia. Earlier in 2011, Etta was diagnosed with dementia and leukemia. Prayers for Etta, who has been a huge force in the industry.

Beyonce sings the song very well, and so does Etta. However, I feel as though Etta should have felt honered to have Beyonce singing her song. Nobody can sing like Etta, and nobody can sing like Beyonce. I don't think Beyonce meant to insult her by singing the song. People write songs so that other people can enjoy them, and sing them as well, so whats the problem??? However, Etta was a legend, and she will truly be missed, RIP.

Love it, but Etta didn't write the song, although she did make it famous. Also, Beyonce does the heck out of that song - definitely does it justice, and also did a service to Etta in the movie. Love Etta's honestly, though. RIP.

@KgirlHasTheWits It is Beyonce fault she picked the song because she played Etta James. Beyonce has her own songs to choose from. Did Beyonce pick At Last because at last a black man was elected for president. If that was the case, then it was done in bad taste and very poor judgement on Beyonce part. She picked the song, nobody else. Of couse Etta going to take back. These days, freedom of speech dosen't exsist anymore. It becomes a career killer and a PR nightmare.

@TheChu011 Check again. She did take it back it public, saying her remarks about Beyonce was a joke. She did say that she was hurt for not being invited to sing "At Last" for the president, which is understandable. They should have invited her. It's not really Beyonce's fault thought. If you were asked to sing for the president, it would be very hard to say no.

@KgirlHasTheWits Her son is probably a fan of Beyonce. Etta just didn't what any trouble within the family. She said in public that she hated Beyonce but, she didn't take it back in public. Only to her son. What I meant by Beyonce being phony was she is wishy washy.
