Driving along on I-459 southbound (Sunday, 18 January 2009), from I-20 westbound to US-31 (Hoover/Pelham).

I-459 connects I-65, north of Birmingham, with I-20/59 south of Birmingham. Downtown Birmingham is a maze of ramps and lanes. So if you're going through Birmingham on I-20 West, take I-459 South to bypass the City.

The music provided is property of the Walt Disney Company (Walt Disney Records). The first song is "Sally's Song," performed by Fiona Apple. The second song is "Kidnap the Sandy Claws."

Again, I don't own this music -- Disney does. It is merely provided to have you enjoy yourself, while watching my video. Again -- Enjoy!

  • Very cool videos. Your Birmingham/Hoover/Pelham videos make me miss home (I'm from that area, I now live in Central Florida). What do you use for recording and capturing?

  • @BrianTL5: Thanks. A video camera on the dashboard with velcro. I use Windows Movie Maker and Pinnacle Studio 14 HD.

  • Thanks.

Both are from "The Nightmare Before Christmas." The first song is a cover of "Sally's Song."

  • I think issue of an expressway's width has to mostly do with accommodating the amount of traffic that regularly uses it, along with how well a state's department of transportation intelligently plans the width of lanes.

In some places I've been to, road lanes(including on regular roads, highways, + expressways) are ridiculously narrow. Ridge Rd., a north-south road in Evanston, IL, is a great example of what I mean. Good choices of music here, and what Disney movie is the 2nd song from?

  • i love alabama! but i live in pleasant grove maybe you remember it

  • 'Tis true.

  • always impressed by the width of the roadway.

I wonder if the traffic or the incredible size of some American-made cars?

  • Or some people just don't know what speed limits are and think they can go at any speed anywhere...

  • Yeah, it's a pretty cool freeeway.

  • Hey, awesome! I've noticed this freeway on maps since I was a kid, and was always intrigued as to what it actually looked like, in person. I would've recorded this, had I made it to Birmingham on my grand North American journey.
