Afterlife Transmitter

A deceased person's online profile is like an eternal ghost, an indiscriminate collection of many years of virtual detritus. Afterlife Transmitter is a private digital memoir which preserves the mind of a dying person in a gift to their most loved ones.

A terminally ill person can compose a collection of memories, thoughts and quotes. The short messages are loaded onto the Afterlife Transmitter. After they have passed, the device is activated and becomes an immortal digital book, which is accessed randomly: dispensing snippets of text into the physical world.

The grieving family members hold a precious repository of the deceased's intellectual estate-- a source of inspiration and advice, a link to the dead through digital means, a serendipitous connection to the world of shadows, and an active and enduring memory.
