Incredible footage! Thanks for sharing!!! I have a question though, I noticed your font at the end of the video is the same font used for The Tonight Show in the 80's and 90's. What font is that?

@HyperAwareTheater I'm very sorry to hear that. Well, one good thing, thanks to Youtube, he won't be forgotten.

@jeprice08 He passed away in June at the age of 90. Thanks for watching!

He's still alive? How old is he? I'm serious. How old is he?

Gary, any chance on posting the rest of this show if you've got it?

Thank you for posting this! Whenever I see a snippet of footage from the lost decade of the Tonight Show (and by extension the previous decade of Steve Allen and Jack Paar which is also mostly gone) I can't help but think of the magnitude of witty and pleasant moments just like this one that we'll never get the chance to see again.

Footage of the first decade of "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" is extremely rare and always a pleasure to watch. Thanks for posting! Do you know of this episode's air date? My guess is sometime in February 1964, though I could be mistaken.
According to the reel, this was December 1964. My grandfather is still alive, though no longer a lion tamer. He has many great stories from other shows, including "What's my line" and "The Mike Douglas Show".
