Setting the timing on my Chevy 307 derby motor. This is the best take. The mic is not the greatest and it is LOUD! Update as of 5-9-10 Needed new headgaskets and it's back to it's old self. Takes awhile to heat up and just keeps running better the hotter it gets.

  • I dont know for sure but I think the 302 was a de stroked motor for whatever reason ....

  • @rproctor30 Yes. Same pistons as a 350. It was done to make them rev faster. Same reason Mopar had the 340. But differance is you could not buy a Mopar with a Trans Am spec race engine at the dealer. But you could get the race 302 in a Z28! And the race Mopar has a different crank. Also destroked. Mopar race trim cubic inches is also 302 to meet spec. But I would still like to have a AAR Cuda or Challenger TA.

  • why oh why do peeps comment on shit they have no idea about, chevy did make a 307.... do some research then leave an intelligent comment

  • @rproctor30 I know. I get alot of dumb arguements. It's just some people hate their life. And try and get a rise out of you.

  • @rproctor30 They also made a 302. A lot of people think that just because it's a certain number that is has to be that brand. Example 307 olds 302 ford. Chevy made a 307 and 302. Just like a chevy 350 and olds 350.

  • @CoachWagner09 Yes. The 302 was made for Trans Am racing. Well back in the day. They were limited to 302 ci. Also awsome engines.

  • @CoachWagner09 Yes sir they did and as a matter of fact my father in law graciously gave me one . casting # 3814660 it was in a 70 or 71 split bumper camaro he got in on trade that was a basket case it didnt have the heads but i put double hump heads on it and it is a screamer...... I know it wasnt the origanal motor for the car. I needed a motor and he didnt know what it was just thought another 350.. he reminds me every week or so how much I owe him lol

  • @kgilroy25 If I'm not mistaken the chevy 302 has the most horsepower in stock form. I ran a 307 there not too bad, but underpowered compared to all of the other chevy small blocks.

  • @rblredneck Theres a 307 Chevy Engine, its got the bore of the 283 (3.875) and the Stroke of the 327 (3.25) Same part number on the crank as the 327. Look them up, Chevrolet built them from 1968 until 1973. They only come with 2bbl carbs. Chevy never built a high performance 307. They was mostly used in trucks and novas. Oh and by the way, before you come back and say anything about them all having 2bbl carbs, they did build a marine 307 with a 4bbl, however nobody knows how much power it made.

  • @NP535overdrive 307's arent chevy motors, theyre BOP (Buick, Pontiac, Olds). 305's and 350's are the most common chevy motors
