Fun Fact: Did you know your picture makes you look like a rapist? While we're on the topic of answers people don't understand and rapists, the word 'no' doesn't mean 'keep going'. Just a gentle heads up.

As a student of linguistics, surely you are aware of linguistic variation? So perhaps your information is simply different to mine. Also Tedsta was arguing that a comma should be placed after "punctuation". I was just pointing out that in this particular instance, a comma would change the statement.

Man I'm French and I've just begun studying linguistics, so I feel honoured to be the one to correct someone who claims to be working on a grammatical thesis.

    1) "It's" is in no way a sign of ownership , it is a shortened form of "it is" or "it has". "Its" is a possessive (what you meant by "ownership"), IT'S both singular and plural.

    2) That is not an example of punctuation; you're confusing it with capitalization. Punctuation is marking pauses, with a comma for example.

haha fuck. My bad. You're partially right about "it's". I said that it indicates ownership or pluralism. That is wrong. "It's" indicates ownership (yes I'm 100% on that), and it's a contraction of "it is". It is NOT plural. "Its" is plural (technically, but that isn't a word. For example "There where 200 Charlies" (plural) or "That is Charlie's bike" (ownership), or "Charlie's coming to my house tonight" (Charlie is).

I could be wrong about the comma after horse though.lol

--you don't use "it's" to indicate ownership, you use "its". For instance, "The dog wagged its tail" is correct

--I don't believe there is a comma after "horse" because they aren't two separate clauses

And thanks for appreciating my efforts. It's tough being a Grammar Nazi.

Sorry mate, but mine is correct lol.

--"It's" with an apostrophe indicates a plural and/or ownership.

-- A comma would be used if I was speaking directly to punctuation (if that makes sense). e.g. "Charlie, go help your sister"

-- A comma is used after horse because it's a change in the focus of the sentence lol.

I respect what you're trying to do, but I wouldn't challenge someone who is doing their University thesis on grammatical forms and structures in the English language. haha
