On June 2, 2005, Theodore Dalrymple spoke at the Harvard Club in New York to celebrate the release of his book Our Culture, What's Left Of It: The Mandarins and the Masses, published by Ivan R. Dee. The book is a collection of essays Dalrymple wrote for City Journal magazine, who sponsored the event. He is introduced by City Journal editor-in-chief Myron Magnet.   • Speaking of 'What's Left of Our Culture', one of the 'Featured Videos' at bottom right of the screen today is 'xFallenAngeLx666' (died pink hair, lots of piercings) with 'Anal beads - My 3 Dares'. Somewhat surprisingly, she didn't like the idea.

  • In this egalitarian age it would be an abomination for politicians to claim any other interest eg. golf, bird watching, equestrian pursuits and so on apart from football, mate. To gain approbation from the masses they need to play to the gallery of course, but in private may indulge in highbrow pursuits. sd goh
