  • Thanks! just edited that. :-)

  • I loved her voice then and I love it today. It would be a little disturbing if she sounded 16 now, don'cha' think? A pretty unreasonable (not to mention boring) to want every performance to sound the same as the original.

I saw Lesley at a package show in the 80's and she was magnetic. Instantly likable, charming and entertaining. And what a voice!

  • Lesley will be 62 in 2008!

It's My Party is still my fav!

You look like you are really enjoying yourself and the group also.

  • Get real. Lesley is having fun and so is everyone else.

I think its great that she wants to do fun events and for charity.

    She looks good also.

  • Yeah, Lesley's current versions of her hits are a bit, well, depressing but she's basically a woman in her 60's singing songs such as IT'S MY PARTY. While I cut her some slack for this reason alone, I still would enjoy more "punch" to her vocals when she does her early hits.

  • Lesley's 2005 album, Ever Since, includes an updated version of You Don't Own Me as well as Lesley's version of her song, Out Here On My Own. Visit her site lesleygoredotcom and her fan club site at lesleygorefanclubdotcom for complete information.

  • LOL Stephen King is signing backup

  • Don't forget you're dealing with a 4th rate recording of a (by their own admission) 2nd rate band.. but hey, it's not about sounding the best.. having fun is more important... and if you can still have a little fun with the same song after 44 years (when this was recorded).. and she does seem to be enjoying herself, good on ya!

  • Ilike all her songs, then and now.

  • Come on, she still puts out a great show. It was for charity!

  • I'm a big BIG Lesley Gore fan, but jeez, it kills me to hear her these days. Her current version of "It's My Party" seems to have been created to keep the song within a narrow range of notes, and it just sounds weird. I love her spunk, but would rather hear a recording of the 1963 version.
