  • These guys dressed like Paul Revere and the Raiders

  • Correction: The Raiders dressed like the Colony! They both ended up in California at the same hotel when trying to "make it" wayyy back in the early to mid 1960's. But the NC6 already had the colonial garb "stylee" back then. (As possibly did the Raiders) Let's put it this way, the Colony DID NOT dress like Paul Revere - it was their own IDEA.

  • They're lip synking

  • No, this video was from ONE live performance, audio from a DIFFERENT one. This audio was from a live album. Their camerman did not videotape the live album concert. He did many others, but not this one. Most bands play songs a bit slower when recording, hence things are not matched up too well. I had to keep pausing the video because it was getting ahead of the audio. Wish they'd have videotaped the live concert when they did the live album. Could have been a nice live concert disc.

  • Where's Ronnie Rice?

  • He was not an original member of the band. He joined after the Breakthrough album, replacing Greg Kemp - their keyboard player - and first appeared on the 1967 album Colonization.

  • @bbdowns124 Dickeyboyz knows all this because he is my younger brother and I am the founding member of the New Colony Six - 3rd from the left in the1965 video and center stage today & in the video from 2005!

  • @fogologo100 no, actually it was all very smart, they were playing to their parents too, and who is to say that these children haven't have the this garage sound bite them as so that they will always remember it? I did. Don't underestimate the memory of the child...

  • @fogologo100 no, it was very smart...you were really playing to their parents too.

  • The first song I ever heard by New Colony Six was "Roll On" which was very popular in California. Then when I found New Colony Six on YouTube I was amazed at how great they are - and I listened to song after song. Now I listen to their CD in my car every day consistently (and I am 53 years old.) (One of my other favorite groups is Yellow Balloon.)

  • thanks for posting this video. missing mark tonight...

  • @dickeyboyz and you know this how?

  • One of my favorite groups from the 60's.

  • I love the New Colony Six but I can't believe that there was a Kiddie-A- Go-Go. I never saw such videos in the Sixties.

  • jeez they mus've hated playing second fiddle to a buncha little kids!
