Played legitimately using battery backup, it is from the saved file at the point, where, using the ruler with the weakest attributes (Michael VIII of the Byzantine Empire) I am but just one step away from total domination of the known world in the 12th Century.

This is my favorite Koei game from its library of strategy games (though I prefer the PC version which aroused my interest), and in my opinion it's certainly much more reasonable and playable than its prequel that came out for the 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System just 4 years earlier in 1989.

As Michael VIII there are a few things I rejoice over:

1) I have a rather beautiful wife (even though she can be a bitch sometimes)
2) I have a beautiful daughter who wishes me well
3) I get to enjoy the pink of health even at an rather advanced age
4) I managed to rewrite my sad history that you would otherwise read about in Wikipedia.
5) I got to behead Hojo of the Kamakura Shogunate and have them elect a bumbling, talentless fool as their successor, thus ensuring a smooth victory.
