  • You should not light a candle in church it is an occult practice to light candles!

  • @araregoodguy Not anymore, it is a very pious practice of Christian Tradition.

  • Thank you. That was beautiful. I am on the path to Orthodoxy. This is very helpful to a protestant/restorationist like me -- one who no longer wishes to protest or restore what was never lost. I long to worship with my whole self, my whole life, and with meaning and connection to a body that extends to millions who have come before me. I long to be a part of the Orthodox church. My family and friends will object, but I know it's the right path. God bless.

  • @nuts4knits Good for you, glad you have found it. You should check out AncientFaithRadio on the web or an Orthodox forum like The Ancient Way.

  • Why are these people (Greek Orthodox) theologically conservative but politically liberal? In America they give their support to a party which is pro-abortion and pro-homosexual marriage. In Greece there are even Orthodox members of the socialist party.

  • @scottvska You must be thinking of minority self acclaimed "Orthodox" Christian speakers.

  • @araregoodguy Lighting candles is offering accompanying prayers. Who are you(your background) to dictate? It is not just an occult practice, besides Christianity others faiths use them as well.
