Penn & Teller: Cell Fish

On 3/14/2011, Pi day and my wedding anniversary, Samantha and I saw Penn & Teller at the Rio in Las Vegas. For the opening trick, I was picked to go onstage. Penn Jillette (the tall, talky one) filmed the trick on my iPhone. The intention was that I would later see the video and discover how the trick was done. The best part of the video? My super lame pose.

The fish has a cut on one side. They place your phone in a plastic bag and into the fish then into the false bottom of the Styrofoam box with ice. You only see the side of the fish that is uncut on stage. Teller only has to cut half of the fishes head and when hes done you never see the evidence. At least that's the way I saw the trick!

P&T are geniuses not only of magic but marketing. This trick is causing people to post their "fish trick" videos on youtube, giving them additional free advertising. Not that they need it much. It also makes a great memento for the mark, I assume.
