October 1, 2009 - In a year that has been all about the rebirth of the fighting game genre, Capcom is now pulling back the curtain on its second love letter to fans with Super Street Fighter IV. We won't see the game until 2010, but already the company has confirmed at least eight additional fighters, updated stages, a new story mode, and huge improvements for its second offering in the revitalized franchise.
From our early eyes-on with the game Super Street Fighter IV looks to have the same beautiful visuals and balanced gameplay teamed with more fighters and fan-requested improvements. The focus attacks still act as the focal point of the franchise's new brawling mechanic, super and ultra combos reward timing and strategy with insane multi-hit finishes, and the spirit of Street Fighter IV is alive and well with its sequel. What changes, however, is still to be unveiled.
Capcom kicked off its debut with the announcement of three fighters, including newcomer Juri a taekwondo expert and two fighters that made their debut in the original Super Street Fighter II with T-Hawk and Dee Jay.
