  • Reminds me of a berrett m107. Even though the m107 prob couldn't take out a tank. Just wondering but how do you thing this anti tank rifle do on the modern battle field??

  • @MrSuperfrog6

they didn't even use this through all of WWII.. tanks are too big for this anymore

The anti-tank rifle concept is a relic of older battlefields when tanks were new on the field. The Russians had some pretty heavy-duty AT rifles, but even in WW II they were not completely effective against all tanks; only the lightly-armored vehicles. It became more practical to equip someone with a shape charge projectile or rocket launcher rather than spend time and money making huge, ineffective rifles that several guys had to operate.

  • @ALEX19066 The Boys rifle is far smaller than the Lahti, and weighs less than half as much. Sometimes if the barrel handguard is missing it will look something like the Boys, but if you see them next to each other its obvious they are not alike.

  • @cwross1976 They had to build small bore rifles because of the Versailles treaty. The necked down the case from the 13mm TuF cartridge to 7.92.. This was called the No.318 cartridge there was one with a gas pellet in the base to make more trouble for the crew of any vehicle it made a hole in. The U.S. 50BMG round was inspired by the TuF round, but is just a scaled up version of the U.S. 30-06 rifle round.

  • interesting fun fact, the nazis... i mean germans... sorry... created a 7.92mm AT rifle... a necked down .50 brass. no, really... it supposedly had a tear gas capsule in it that was supposed to force the stricken tanks crew to bail so that they could then be mowed down with mg42 et cetera... cheers.

  • when this rifle was designed tanks were still pretty thin. it was obsolete when WW2 started, they just kept them in the field becasue they were there. british...

  • @shotfirer1972 13.97mm to be EXACT...

  • that looks a lot like a LAHTI

  • @LakeTahoeHunting hatch openings, engine, turret ring

  • Thank God the Barrett made a better 50.
