Moving Hearts playing All I Remember , with Christy Moore doing the singing.Christy left in 1982 after their second album'Dark End Of The Street' to go solo,
This brings back great memories of being at Ag College in Ballyhaise in 1982 and we had a lad with us who had dropped out of the priesthood and boy could he belt this song out !
Despite the myth about Cavan people I found them to be great folk. Many a Sunday night on my way back to the college ( thumbing ) they would lift me and go way out of their way to leave me at the college gates. A big belated thank you to one and all.
i went to an ex-industrial school but it was staffed and run by christian brothers ( christian what , are you joking me ) a ghost walked through me one day and frightned the fuck out of me . long story and too big to tell here , the state and the clergy have a lot to answer for
I first heard this track, blasting out from inside a record shop,on a visit to Ireland in the 70's. Am I right in thinking that this was the version released as a single ?. I know that I had to go in and buy a copy there and then. I used to play this when I was resident DJ at 'Berties' nightclub at the Shannon Centre in Ilford. Sadly, my vynil collection was stolen from storage after I went over to CD and I lost this record. It's great to hear it again. THANKS ! Music is brilliant !!
I'm not a particular fan of this version, no... but Christy's solo version (on The Time Has Come, as noted) - that's a damn fine rendition, and a particular favourite musical moment of mine. Wonderful song. Hats off to your dad.
Is he really? he went to School with my da I think he was a year ahead at the Sexton St Christian brothers. Your da sang at one of our School nights. I went there myself. I agree Christy murders this. But past the point of rescue is one of my personal favourite songs. You should be very proud
