STS-132: Landing For Space Shuttle Atlantis At Kennedy Space Center

Space shuttle Atlantis returns from space, landing at KSC at the conclusion of mission STS-132. Landing occurred on time the morning of May 26, 2010. This was Atlantis' 32nd mission in the 25 years since its first launch in 1985. Since then, the shuttle orbiter has racked up over 120 million miles traveled in space, docked with the Russian Mir space station, serviced the Hubble Space Telescope, deployed planetary probes, conducted numerous research missions and played a critical role in the construction and maintenance of the International Space Station.

The vehicle will be processed for a possible Launch On Need (rescue) mission backup for STS-134, the last-ever planned shuttle flight. Then the orbiter will be delivered to a museum or other insitution for permanent display.

Does this space shuttle need engine when it comes down? I have heard that engine is used only when it goes up and it comes down acording to the wind's direction. Is this right?
