Communist Party Pride! (TV ad)

You might be a Communist and not know it! We support things like a woman's right to vote, Social Security, and environmentalism. If you support those things too, you're a Communist and welcome to the Party. (We can worry about those other things we support later on).

I know it's oftentimes hard to figure things out, but the point of the video isn't to compare Communists to "progressives".

It's to point out that the Center for Am. Progress is misleading people by choosing three of the least controversial ideas of past progressives, and then pretending that those progressives would support the other things that CAP supports.

@claton95 Don't put words into my mouth! I never said that I hated the United States. I am critical of our past, as any good patriot should be. Accepting blindly that we are a country, which could not possibly be blamed for its own actions, is as naive as it is arrogant.

Quit using "ad hominem" and "red-herring" fallacies. If you can't fight against my argument, then don't post anything at all.

@Claton95 I moved out 6 years ago at age 18 and have supported myself since. Perhaps it is you who should not stoop to using character attacks. Clearly you do not know me or my background. I have worked my way through college, and struggled living on my own after high school. I grew up working class, and I am proud to come from hard-working individuals like my father and mother. @claton95 So was the United States in its removal of the Native Americans, suppression of women's suffrage, and the forced seizure of Mexican lands through warfare. He killed many throughout the revolution, as did Americans during the American Revolution. Oh my, those poor British soldiers who were slaughtered by those slovenly, no-good Americans (sarcasm). No sir, I have worked on the farm, in the factory, and in the classroom since I was 12 supporting my family. I moved out when I was 18.

@claton95 That's because they were Stalinist, not Communist. Do you believe that the Democratic People's Republic of North Korea is democratic? Just because someone or some entity calls themselves or itself something does not make it true.

Moreover, define "successful." Given what Lenin was able to accomplish in such a short time, I would call him very successful. He took a backwater country, and he made it into a leading world power. That is a huge leap.
