http://www.vocalpower.co.uk - This video is the fourth part of a series on the exploration of using a middle or mixed voice to access higher notes. In this video, I explain the benefits of practicing arpeggios and demonstrate the crying sound which will help you develop those muscles to tilt the larynx.

Practice this daily for 10-15 minutes and you will soon notice a huge improvement.

Regards
Tony

  • Good day, seen your vid and it's very helpful! I really have problem when it comes to high notes.

  • @faroukrupiwin Be persistent with this technique and the high notes will come!

  • thanks...good video but it seems that increasingly you rise your larynx as you go higher and though it may be normal for pop singers with mic it's not absolutely the way to classical singer....

  • @aryankhah Very valid comment. In fact, traditionally, ALL classical singers were taught to sing with a neutral (often mostly lowered) larynx. As understanding of voice production has progressed, we now appreciate that the movement upwards and downwards of the larynx is perfectly acceptable and sometimes essential.

  • I really appreciate your help ... but my biggest problem hasn't solved yet .... is the head voice should be the same speaking (chest) voice with higher resonance or head voice could be without the edge of speaking voice ????

  • @111shawny You should find that when you sing in 'head/middle' voice that there is a higher resonance present and there should be no sensation of pushing the chest voice up. I like to call it a 'zing'

  • Your a genius

  • hi...I was wondering if there's a quick tip for this...I can do the excercise from the previous video, going the range you go at the end without breaks, but when I'm really singing, I still go to falsetto instead of the normal voice on high notes.

I can do the tone, but I can't make the switch in my head go away while singing...any ideas?

  • This was REALLY helpful. Thank you so much!

  • skype me?

  • when i try singing higher notes quietly.. my voice tends to direct to falsetto.. i'm having a hard time determining the feel of the "mixed voice" and getting rid of that bridge to head voice.. that one is still baffling me.. also do you recommend doing a basic warm-up before doing these types of practices?? if so which warm-ups do you recommend?

  • Thank you!!

  • Hello

I have a problem when I try to sing high notes. I get it, but then my throat starts to hurt and you can not reach the high notes.

Why is this happening?. I've been researching techniques, but this problem keeps happening. Appreciate some advice or help

  • Very Helpfull

  • Is it supposed to take more air as you go higher in your mix or should the airflow be the same trough your whole range ? Thank you.
