A Texas- USA prison prepares for the execution of another young black man. Four leather belts will strap him to a white bed as he waits for the lethal injection. Visitors can stand in an adjacent room and watch through a barred window. Glenn McGinniss is on death row and feels like a dead man walking. He describes how at seventeen he stole money for his mother who was in prison with a crack habit. When a young woman started screaming he panicked and shot her. An all white jury condemned him to death by execution. His grandmother shows us photos of him a chubby child laughing at the camera. Prisons crowded with young black men is a national phenomena. Blacks make up 41% of the prison population but only 12% of the American population. White parents of the victims recommend watching the executions. One father says, "they have to be removed from society like a rabid dog." Lynching of blacks at the courthouse is no longer permitted, but judicial prejudice still runs deep.

since nobody knows what comes after death execution is a random punishment. therefore its not quite fair :s lock em up for good should do !

The death penalty is bad. It is sad to see young men go to their deaths in prison. However, it is the most humane way to execute tried, convicted criminals. Some are tortured, gassed, shot and beheaded in foreign countries. Here it is a needle, sleepiness and then your heart stops. As bad as I feel for those being executed, I feel even worse for those who have lost loved ones at the hands of a cold, calloused killer. No one ends up on death row by mistake. They've all murdered someone.

why people want to emphasis "Blacks make up 41% of the prison population but only 12% of the population"? you want to know why so many Blacks in jail? Because they commit the crime, not becaue they are Blacks!! Please rememer my friend, being Black don't get you sent to jail, doing a crime does

Death is the easy way out....Life without parol in seg...is already torture. Take away all the last pleasures and you have a living death. Make cells sound proof little food nothing to see but 4 walls and you will pray for death... Isn't that better. Require all children to watch this man on hidden camers and they will share his torture and learn...
