We've done a lot of testing with the Sony PMW-F3 camera and had great results. Our tests included sensitivity, dynamic range and low light performance. In a three part series, Mitch and Andy will cover all of these topics with the hopes of shedding light on what this camera can do.

  • Wouldnt a lot of these tests come out different once you get to use s-log when its enabled later in the year?

  • @JogBird S-Log is a gamma mode that will change the dynamic range of the camera significantly. However these ratings can still apply because we are only looking at the correct exposure for the midtone values. With S-Log these values will be lower but after correction in post we should get to around the same range. So you could still utilize these ISO values when shooting in S-Log. We will do more testing when S-Log is enabled to be sure though.

  • Great stuff Andy. The in-camera ratings confuse me!
