  • actually the 1961 cub original did have a timed deck . they have overlapping blades on some decks just by staggering the spindles . they dont use the timed deck anymore on the ltx1042 . they also are using the kawasaki twin for 2012.

  • Lots of plastic, lots of steering problems after about 3 years of use, timed blades are still a bad idea and I bet is uses the not so courageous kohler courage engine. I owned a repair center until a few months ago so trust me, this is a troy bilt in cub skin. If you really want a good lawn tractor for the money take a look at the husqvarna LS series or buy a real cub cadet with shaft drive from an independent dealer.

  • no other tractor is built tougher? nothing it cant handle? who backs up these claims?

i bet it wouldn't be able to out-pull my 40 year old IH built cub cadet 147

  • a cheap made throw away box store lawnmower. just what i wanted. actually the cub cadets that i like were built before IH sold the line in 1981. overlapping cut? gee doesnt the original cub cadet garden tractor from 1961 do that? since this 1000 series machine has an overlapping cut that must mean it has to have timed blades?? better have a cogged belt or the blades can hit.
