1955 T-Bird Junior by the PowerCar Company

This is a video of my recently acquired 1955 T-Bird Junior. This chassis is completely original and un-restored. The car had been sitting in the basement of the original owner since the late 60's. The body is being cleaned and polished so the test drive with a new 6 Volt golf cart battery was undertaken with the chassis only. I did nothing to the chassis beyond connecting the battery terminals.

T-Bird Juniors were produced by the PowerCar Company from 1955 until the company went out of business in 1967. Each new model year, Ford would provide engineering drawings to the PowerCar Company so the Junior's styling would change with the real car. Sold mostly to Dealerships for promotional and marketing purposes, T-Bird Juniors could also be purchased though the mail and through high end toy stores. T-Bird Juniors retailed for more than $500 in 1955 so they were a very expensive toy.

Approximately 5000 T-Bird Juniors were produced during the 12 year model run with more than 2/3 of that number being produced during the first 3 years. This car is serial #2250.

Once the body has been cleaned, polished and protected with a good coat of wax, I will post more video of the entire car as we show it off at local car shows along with my collection of other Mustang and T-Bird Juniors.
