Why did Zack have to die he and Cloud Angeal are my favorite characters. I love Zack I cried when he died.

Well if Zach didn't die, Cloud wouldn't be such a badass, and he also wouldn't hate shinra and the soldier project. Also he wouldn't hate Sephiroth because Aeris would already belong to Zach. So unless you would want Zach instead of Cloud, he wouldn't be a good addition, because Zach's death made Cloud.
