Public domain classic black and white television production from the CBS series "Climax!", sponsored by Chrysler Corporation. "Climax!" (later known as "Climax Mystery Theatre") aired on CBS from 1954 to 1958. A commercial introductory clip shows Chrysler's "five great cars": Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto, Chrysler, and Imperial. This is followed by an introduction by host Wiliam Lundigan to an adaptation of "The Adventures of Huckelberry Finn", starring Thomas Mitchell, Elizabeth Patterson, John Carradine, Walter Catlett, and Charles Taylor. Lundigan is then assisted by Mary Costa in explaining a fascinating new development in car radios by Chrysler and Philco -- transistors. Finally, comedian Red Skelton is an a short skit to promote his upcoming starring role in next week's Climax! production "Public Pigeon No. 1".
"CLIMAX!" was a live anthology series (several of the later episodes were produced on film, and presented on videotape as well) which appeared on CBS' Thursday night schedule [8:30-9:30pm(et)] from 1954 through '58 {a Chrysler "SHOWER OF STARS" special pre-empted "CLIMAX!" once a month}. This episode originally aired on September 1, 1955. Art Gilmore is the announcer, and Chrysler's spokesman; Mary Costa eventually became William Lundigan's co-host in the fall of 1956.
